AGM and Open Forum

In June, Zero Carbon Yorkshire’s Annual General Meeting took place in Leeds.

We kicked off with activists from across Yorkshire contributing to a shared reporting wall where people shared which groups they were form and what they were doing.

James McKay from the University of Leeds then gave an excellent presentation on the Ingenious to raise awareness of renewable technologies and to train researchers in effective communication on climate change.

Participants then broke up into a number of open forum groups. results from these discussions are still being collated and will be included in next month’s newsletter (as well as appearing on the Zero Carbon Yorkshire website).

We then did the formal bit of the meeting with the directors reporting back on progress (again a full write up will follow). We also welcomed two new directors with Marian Kempson and David Garlovsky joining the board.

A fine lunch provided by the wonderful Rainbow Junktion project – part of the Real Junk Food Project.
