In 2012, Conservative MPs wrote to David Cameron expressing opposition to onshore wind and calling on the Government to cut financial support for wind energy.

Since then, the Government has indeed cut support but also made the planning increasingly difficult for onshore wind developers. But what do the constituents of those 79 MPs really think about wind turbines?

New polling commissioned by 10:10 and reported in Conservative blog Bright Blue shows that three quarters of the constituents support wind energy and 73% would be happy to live within 5 miles of a wind turbine.
